Hello my fellow NWN fans ^.^ I am hoping that someone can give me a solution to this problem I have, and fast/soon/whenever possible.

My computer did a disk check recently and broke my Windows 7 OS so I downgraded to XP since Vista sucks in my opinion. When I did this I had to a complete wipe of my HDD because I'm silly and had no other option (I added this just in case it has something to do with my problem).

I recently reinstalled NWN Diamond Edition with my ancient CD and installed the 1.69 HoTU Crit. Rebuild, but when I launch the game (with NWNMAIN.exe) it gives me a No-CD error before it completely launches and then it just crashes. The CD error it gives me says:

"Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c"

I've no clue what that means >.<

On the rare occasion that it actually goes through the movies and gets the main menu all I get to see is a black screen. I have also been able to occasionally interact with the menu, but it does nothing to help me see anything.

Fixes I have tried are the "safemovie to1 from 0" change in the nwn.ini file, the atilogxx.dll thingy because I have an ATI graphics card, and even the toolset trick thing which didn't even get past the loading module screen before crashing.

My computer specs are:

OS - Windows XP Pro. 32-bit SP3
CPU - AMD Athlon II x2 250 (dual-core)
RAM - 3GB DDR3
Graphics - ATI Radeon 3000 HD

Note that the game ran just fine on WIndows 7 when I had it so I'm pretty sure it isn't a graphics driver issue. This is all the information that should be needed to tell me what's wrong, but if I perchance left something out please tell me so I can add whatever it is you need.

Is something wrong with your hard drive? It could sound like it from your problems with the OS.
Try running a full disk check (through windows). This might take some time and/or require a restart.
If succesful, try running the game again and report here. Else get a new hard drive to install the game on.

edit:
After a search on google, it looks like the error is about a USB device. You might find more information here.

I actually did do a full disc check after I installed Windows XP just in case something was wrong with my hard drive and it turned out fine. I also resolved that error I was getting, which didn't change anything with the crashing of the game on startup other than letting me get through the opening movies and letting me see the beautiful black screen of the main menu.

Edit: I went and got that atioglxx.dll and placed it once again in my NWN directory and it solved the crash issue. Unfortunately I still have a black screen for a main menu >.<

I now know what my problem really is. It's actually the fact that NWN isn't detecting OpenGL all together and therefore can't render anything on screen. I've no clue how to fix this issue though. I've already tried updating my drivers, but I'm already up-to-date on all of them. If anyone who has had this issue before and has fixed it could you please tell me how to do so. I'm really wanting to play NWN right now D:

Have you tried rolling back to an older driver? I read in a post a while ago that this may cure issues with OpenGL with some cards.
I can try rolling back, but I don't have a clue on how to roll back to an older driver if I never had an older driver installed.

I would guess your earlier installation with win7 had a driver-version that was different from your current one.

Try to go to the webpage of the manufacturer of your graphics card and find an earlier release of the driver.

Uninstall your current driver and install the new 'older' driver.
