I happened to check for updates on W10 today and got he new April W10 major update and now NWN isn't launching. If I check my problem reports I'm getting an app crash and it's pointing to atioglxx.dll as my fault module name. As an FYI, if you haven't updated yet you may want to wait before doing so if you're currently playing NWN.

Is the game's executable set to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3?

dr.schliemann: Is the game's executable set to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3?
I had not, last week before I updated things ran fine without being in compatiblity mode. I just tried setting compatibility mode and that changes the crash but didn't fix it. Going through the known issues with AMD cards, changing the name of the executable seems to fix things. Unfortunately, simply deleting the profile from radeon settings doesn't fix things, I do need to change the name of the executable and use a shortcut as suggested at https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/213038845-Launching-issues-on-ATI-AMD-cards

Renaming the executable is another solution that came to my mind, but I thought you already did it considering that you said the game used to run fine.
Anyway I'm happy you have resolved the issue.
