So I got NWN2 from gog.
Installed it. Ran it.
The title screen came up. Shortly after it went all blocky and then froze
I could get out of it.

It did that a couple times.
I went away from the computer for awhile and came back.

My computer windows 7 system then went all trippy stripey characters and the game was not running.

I tried rebooting.

I got hard block vertical stripes and a screen full of accii characters where the windows splash screen should be. Then it BSODed.
It took a couple more hard reboots and safe mode recycles before windows managed to fix itself and boot normally. (WHEW!) I quickly uninstalled the game
and have not tried again.

Is there no hope for me?
I don't want to lose my computer to play this.

video card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 w/ video memory
What you are describing is a hardware fault, or possibly a driver fault (most likely hardware). It has NOTHING to do with Neverwinter Nights 2. Your computer needs checking by a competent professional.

Known NWN2 Problem, the game is incompatible with certain Graphic Driver/Chipset

Unfixable, BUT, the game should work if run WINDOWED

Go to the options in the main menu, it should load, DO NOT TRY TO LOAD ANY MODULES, then set the game to run windowed

Close the game and try again, tell us if it worked, it did for me. The resolution do not matter, it just running the game fullscreen that bring out this problem, i would suggest a program that force the game run "fullscreen -Windowed", there are a few avaible:

Note: The visual turning and scrolling by moving the mouse at the end of the screen won't work by playing windowed, even with the above mentioned programs, you will have to use mouse gesture, like keeping pressed the third mouse button etc.
^^I don't like the sound of using programs like that.

If you want to put nwn2 in windowed mode and can't get into the settings menu try editing your "nwn.ini" file in Notepad. There should be a setting in there called "Fullscreen = 1 (/ 0)" or somesuch.
