So I'm sort of in a tough spot right now, I have decided to recently re-install my copy of NWN2 in order to play with a friend however, we encounter a issue in that the hard copy is not fully patched as compared to the GOG or Steam versions. I've searched all across the internet for the manual files (since the IGN server no longer provides them meaning auto-update no longer works) and came up short.

I've found nothing other than the manual patcher... something that requires the rtp files in order to patch it. (Which I cannot find).

Therefore, I have come here looking for any suggestions or help that can be provided. Would it for example be possible for GOG to provide me with the patch files?

Patches for both NWN's and a lot of other stuff.

The patch files for NWN2 are no longer hosted on the vault. All links that lead to the vault go to a page that previously hosted the links but has since been changed and now only links you to a web forum and has the title:

View.pbp

I would post links but presently I cannot.

Unless I am missing something the Vault doesn't have the NWN2 patches either.

The link I posted goes to community created replacement vault.
Patches are on the upper right hand corner.

Which version of NWN 2 did you just install? If it's the GOG version, you don't need to get any patch as it's already updated. If it's the disc version, then you need something like 7-Zip to open the archived file, which you can get for free.

The link that Jarmo posted for the NWN Vault IS valid. There is also a "Patcher" file that makes downloading and installing the various patches much easier. I think there are about 15 patches for the Original Campaign and then a couple more for the Expansion Packs. Thank goodness for the community that supports the game after the original companies involved abandoned it.

So... if we are updating from our old discs... it's like 8 patches? There isn't one from 1.00788 to 1.231765?

!!! Yup it's Dave... Eat2surf ;) I pulled out NWN2 to see how it runs with my new GTX1080Ti ... kicks butt! I may actually play the campaign instead of just dink around. ... there is also a trick to changing screen resolution... gotta turn off full screen, then change resolution... then put full screen back on.

Good to hear! You've got 4 campaigns to enjoy now. You were a great host in the old podcast, and I appreciated your voiced cameo in the Halloween mod.

Say... that's what I could do. I never did get all of the bugs (pun slightly intended) out of my haunted house... is that Bouncy Rock Halloween module still out there?

Yes, it has moved since you may have seen it last, but it's available here. Great stuff!

I've put many hours into this game then suddenly the AI stopped working. I've exited the game then reloaded but no change.

I googled about this and discovered Many people have reported this issue. Seems the game needs a patch but GOG doesn't have one. My GOG version of NWN2 is - Ver 1.0.23.1765

NOTE: If you google the following you will see what I'm talking about: (NWN2 AI stopped working)
Please get a patch for the game.

Discovered the Neverwinter Vault & it seems to have a lot to choose from but says it has patches: https://neverwintervault.org/rolovault/projects/nwn2/nwn2other/19/index.html

Looks like the initial file I need to upgrade the version of the GOG game is: nwn2_pc_english_from101807_to103835.zipnwn2_pc_english_from101807_to103835.zip

* Unfortunately that file isn't available. * The game must be upgraded in order to install the patch to fix the AI issue.

I need to get the AI working. Many times I don't need the AI but some fight scenes I need it where there's a killer spellcaster!!

Thanks in advance for your assistance! (I was going to submit issue to GOG tech support but for some reason they require a file upload to submit a request. I have Nothing to upload to them) :o/
