So I've gone to the graveyard near the beginning of the game, and Khelgar insists on running all over the place, aggroing all the monsters and incurring like 15 opportunity attacks. How do I get him to stop and stay near me? (specifics please)

Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind, Turning Puppet Mode on mostly fixed that although now I have to order him to attack monsters standing in front of him.

There are too many switches with overlapping (in mysterious ways) companion behavior functions in this game. Some places to look are on the last tab of the character sheet, where there is one list of things to fiddle with. Puppet mode can make them stand there till something kills them (or not, depending on how you set everything else).

Another list of settings can be found by (and this works differently if you have a companion selected or if you have your avatar selected) right clicking anywhere on the terrain. And giving an order to the party (relative to who is selected). "attack nearest' is one of them and 'stand your ground' is another.

Another list can be found by.... dang it, I'm forgetting the command. Should I fire it up to find it? Search on the 'net? It's a series of letters from the keyboard that brings up a menu and selects from it. AVV? Something like that.

Anyhow, if that's not complicated enough, there are one or two community mods that "simplify" companion behavior control. I haven't tried them.

-edit- it took me a while to write this because the Dodgers and Pods had a bench-clearing kerfluffle while I was composing it. About puppet mode: I had a lot of trouble with getting my party to behave the way I wanted that way. Give the other methods a try too, is my advice.

When you enter an area, tell your party to wait (hold right mouse button, issue command), go on with your tank until the enemies have spotted you and run back to your group. When the enemy reaches you, command the to attac nearest enemy. Repeat this until you have cleared the area.

Sometimes it happens that your friends don´t do anything during combat. They will say "what should I attac?" or something similar. In this case you have to command them to attack nearest. Some battles were really hard until I found out I was fighting alone.
