Hello everyone!

1) It's been a while since I played it but does this game resemble Dragon Age 1?

2) Any pointers for someone coming from NWN 1? I'm still getting used to the hotkeys.

3) What is the maximum number of party members?

4) When I highlight (pressing "Z") enemy names and status don't seem to show up. Is there a way to fix that? I liked this in BG, IWD and NWN 1 because it let me focus fire and prioritize targets. Can't really tell a lizardman shaman from the other types unless I mouse over it.

1) I dont think so. Well both are party based RPG but saying it is similar would be exagrations.

2) I had written upsides and downsides of NWN2 topic.

3) In chapter 1 it is 3 (4 including you). In chapter 2 and 3 it is 4 (4 including you).

4) I couldnt find a way. But you can see enemy status by right clicking it. However there is no way of seeing enemy resistances that way.

Thanks for the reply! I should've clarified that for number 4 I was referring to the "uninjured, barely injured, injured, badly injured, and near death" status text. For things like immunities and resistances I don't think it's unreasonable to try to have the player figure it out. I apologize for not making that clear.

I favourited your thread and I reckon I'll be visiting that one often. Thanks again!
1. Actually, I played Dragon Age 1 first, and I thought NWN2 was very similar in terms of quests, dialogue, and how companions work.

2. I don't know.

3. There is no hard maximum, but what Engerek01 said is true specifically in the OC. In SoZ, the maximum is 6. In other modules, it's whatever the builder wanted it to be.

4. There's a mod that puts HP bars above enemy heads, and I think it makes their names visible too, or else the same author made a separate mod that displays NPC names over their heads. http://www.nexusmods.com/neverwinter2/mods/832

NWN2 is much more party-based than its predecessor. In NWN1 you needed to be self-sufficient and capable of handling all roles by yourself. A henchman could supplement you (particularly as a meat shield) but they aren't going to carry you. In NWN2 there's a much bigger focus on party-based mechanics, and character classes like Bard are much more feasible because focusing on spamming buff and debuff spells is significantly more attractive. My first playthrough was with a Drow Bard who never touched a weapon and had almost no means of dealing damage, and I positively loved it. That would have been totally a non-starter in NWN1.

One huge change from NWN1 to NWN2 is the way the haste spell works. It can no longer be obtained as a passive effect on magic items, so if you want the effect you need access to the spell. The spell no longer speeds up spellcasting, so it's not as useful to wizards and sorcerers, but it now affects every creature in an area of effect rather than just a single target so it can buff the entire party in one casting. It's one of the most powerful buff spells in the game, and you should aspire to ensure your party always has access to it. The quicken spell metamagic is significantly more valuable as a result, since it's now the only way to obtain faster casting.
