I am in Helms Road in chapter 1 and I am having serious problem with ability drainers. I had 6 lesser restoration scroll and I had to use all of them because my dexterity or Strength were all drained. I am a rogue with maxed skill in magic items so i can use scrolls.

My question is, is there a way to restore my strength or dexterity any other way? Do they go away with rest? It sucks when your strength goes down to 3. Any advice regarding this issue is welcomed.

It depends on whether it's ability damage or ability drain. Ability damage can be healed by resting, but ability drain can only be removed by the proper spell. Typically poisons and disease are the most common ability score reductions, and they deal ability damage. Just make sure to cure the disease before resting or it might get worse (a healing kit will do the job).

There's always an NPC healer in every chapter that will provide full healing free of charge, and that's your best option if you're already ability drained. If you can't reach one (or it's too inconvenient) then you're stuck using the appropriate magic spell to cure it. The ideal way to handle ability drain is to prevent it in the first place by being immune to it; an Amulet of Health is a fairly reasonably priced item that makes you immune to that annoying and crippling effect.

I am buying it as soon as i see it. Thank you.
Stock up on Lesser Restoration potions. They remove so many effects and are quite cheap.

You are right. I noticed I have 32 Lessser Restoration Potion in my bag after i crawled to the gate :)) For some reason I neglected them.

Btw, I finished first chapter, the final fight was super hard. My companion died. Even with 24 AC that last guy (no spoilers) almost always hit me. And he and his nights hit hard. First time I used healing potions.
Promising, I don't remember the end fight of chapter 1.
It's soon time to reinstall NWN...

Also, use those stones of recall or whatever they were called.
Easy jump back to base for patch up and refill + sell the loot.
Scrolls of Lesser Restoration can be use by anyone. If a scroll or item has at the bottom "Only useable by:" (class or alignment) Then you must be that class/alignment. Or be a Rogue with UMD Rouges with good UMD can use equipment like 'Yellow Gloves of the Rose" a Monk only Item

A scroll with Mage Armor on it has "Only useable by: Wizard"
"Only useable by: Sorcerer"
Sometimes Barb may be listed
For Healer's kits to heal poison or disease you need a few skill points in heal.
