Sorry if this has been done before. Search doesn't work for me on this forum.

I have had a number of items disappear" boots of striding just vanished; The Night of the Long Death amulet is no longer in my inventory for instance.

And the journal shows that there are quests to do that I have finished. I have finished the Tomes quest but the journal shows that I still have to give the last Tome (which I definitely gave to Eltoora) ; Have done the judgement in Charwood but the journal says it is not done.

Is there a way to fix this?

This happens when the game cannot resolve resrefs on reload. Somehow your last save got corrupted so you'd need to reload a prior one.

Are you running any custom utilities or do you have anything in your override folder? There could be a conflict.

You can use the console to replace the missing items and reset the variable that is supposed to register the Tomes quest as complete. You may need to do that if you didn't make an earlier save.

The Tomes quest is not part of the critical path so you can ignore that one. It will disappear from the list once you've entered Luskan. If you need the codes for the missing items, I can furnish them but you'll need to be more specific. Was it the +3 version of the ammy? What was the boots enhancement +2? Those are the ones sold in that chapter.

But before any of that, check the missing loot pool in the temple. It's a long shot but who knows when your stuff is gone missing kinda spooky-like?
Thanks for writing back. I was unable to get here to check to see if I had an answer. Am running no custom anything

Will look at the override folder to see if anything is in it. ignored the losses as there was nothing there that absolutely made it impossible to proceed - and am not in Chapter 3.

Items lost are all the articles from the henchmen - so the night of the long death necklace for grimngaw is the biggest for me as I have found heis the best supposrt for my wizard who is somewhat underpowered until about now. I have the Lantanese Ring. I have Daelans amulet. I don't have Linu's article or Sharwyn's article or Tomi's.

Funnily enough the boots that had disappeared in Chapter 1 showed up in my inventory in Chapter 3.

Thanks again.

The henchman items are not game breakers, just very powerful. You chose the best hench for a wiz (IMO) because he is always hasted plus monk speed plus has the only elemental damage of all melee attacks from his gloves. His amulet is also a good one for wiz because they need all the CON they can manage.

Glad to hear at least the boots showed up. The only penalty from not carrying all the hench rewards through is that they get pretty high experience in later chapters and that can add up. If you decide you need them explain that in this thread and I can show you how to replace them. It's only a matter of finding some token so not really a bad cheat since you may still want to follow all their backstories without restarting anew.

Without any custom stuff laying around, I am betting it was just a random burp. It happens. If you should notice any further anomalies like this (not in the current "buggy" game, because there may be a corruption), I recommend an clean reinstall. That's about the best I can do to help.
Thanks for writing. If possible would like the Monk necklace and the Bard item at least. I am a very enthusiastic but not very elegant wizard and I don't get a lot of points for completing things because I use the familiar, the monk and frequently the tiger. If you have the console commands to get these, that would be great.

Would a clean reinstall keep the savegames?

I'm not aware of a way to hide spoilers here on GoG so will link the henchman reward codes in the section Henchman Quest Reward: Requirements of a guide originally posted on the Bioware forums of old. Pay attention to how to type the reward item code for each chapter. The instructions on using the console to spawn items is included in the same guide. Grimgnaw is the monk and Sharwyn is the bard.

You have the option to delete savegames or not during uninstall, but since it is possible the savegames themselves may contain corrupted data, I recommend that you simply try to finish your current chapter session (am guessing you are somewhere in the Ch2 finale atm), save the character and then, after reinstall, start a new game with the latest character version of your toon starting at Ch3. All the gear and inventory will remain in the character save file.

If you have the 3 unlock codewords in your nwnplayer.ini, you can start any campaign at the beginning of any chapter.
