Hey I just installed Neverwinter nights and any time I launch it the screen goes black and crashes. Is there any way I can fix this?

Be sure to run as an administrator. Be sure the game is not installed in Program Files. And be sure to run the game from its executable and not from the menu (the menu has "Play Game" "Toolset" "DM" "Settings" and so forth). If it's a new installation, it should run from the executable and not the menu.

Also, if you run the menu (I forget the .exe's name, but it will be in your installation director), I think you can change settings. Be sure shiny water is turned off. You can play with a few settings there to see if it works.
