Does NWN2 still come with the ridiculous online registration, serial, account checking DRM when you want to play multiplayer, even LAN?

Will there be working Keys delivered on purchase or do i have to write support and wait a week?

Thanks

It does require serial keys.

You get 1 serial key per game/add-on when you buy them game. NWN2 gives them right up-front when you click on the game in your account section.
Online registration and account-checking are a thing of the past. The official NWN servers (both 1 and 2) are offline now so the only online services left are fan-run. There's still a requirement for one unique CD-key per player, which can be handicapping if you want to play LAN, but that's the only DRM remaining.

This aspect of the game is built right into the game engine, so it's never going away.

I believe it's actually used to uniquely identify players between login sessions for the purposes of saving their characters and progress. Given that most multiplayer servers still around are persistent worlds, this is probably a blessing in disguise (even if it's a royal pain in the ass for LAN).

Still, as far as DRM goes, at least this is something that the player actually has control over. Worlds better than the "always online" stuff that's in style with contemporary DRM.

Yes, exactly. I never meant to imply otherwise.

I personally don't really consider this DRM - or at least it's a very, very mild form, and I'm a staunch hater of DRM. As you say, it's worlds better than many other DRM schemes.

I'd agree, but it certainly is a restriction and I can understand people not liking it.

Will this be unique keys or still the fake universal key? I need unique keys to play on-line with friends and i don't like to wait weeks until someone from support can give me a real serial/
Do i still have to wait for the login to time out?

Unique keys. All three are listed right under the links for the files in your account page when you buy the game.
