What are the essential mods, e.g ui, graphics, ect.

Also, what order do I play the dlc.

This blog has a pretty good entry:

As for the DLC, I assume you mean tht expansion packs. Mask of the Betrayer, is meant to be played after the Official Campaign (OC). Storm of Zehir has some ties with the OC and is best played after MotB to better understand the references. Mysteries of Westgate has no relations with the OC and can be played anytime you wish.

That post has recently been updated with many new mods. Pro-tips have been added to.
Here are two pro-tips for you: Stop telling people to install old games in program files and change the template of your blog to something that is less cancer inducing.

Thanks for the criticism.

I never explicity recommended to install NWN2 in Program Files; I only used Program Files as an example because that's what NWN2 defaults to. That said, it could certainly be taken as an implicit recommendation so I've edited the write-up to explicity recommend against installing into Program Files.

As for the blog's layout, I don't see what the problem is. It's a basic blog layout that people should be familiar with. Most other NWN blogs use the same basic layout, not many people have complained about it, and the blog is almost as popular as crpgaddict (who uses a similar layout, has been blogging for twice as long and has four times as many write-ups).

I experimented with "current gen" layouts and didn't like them. They slowed the blog down, hid my content, and basically it's a lot of work for fuck-all gain.

Thus, I really don't give a shit about that anymore.

I think your blog looks fine.

Anyway, back on topic, I haven't reinstalled/messed with NWN2 in a while, but last time I did (I think a year or two ago) I had this problem with the movement animation stuttering. Like your blog said, rebooting the PC seemed to solve it sometimes, but I remember it being somewhat inconsistent in whether I could make it go away. Hopefully that got fixed with recent updates or can be when I try the two other fixes you've suggested.

Anyhow, thanks for posting this thread!

Going OT a little, I get either a blank page or a list of blocked scripts (using Firefox with the NoScript extension).

You may have valid reasons for requiring third-party javascript to be enabled to view your blog (Google, BlogBlog, Blogger) but security/privacy conscious visitors will have valid reasons for blocking them. This isn't an issue I've encountered with other blogs (e.g. CRPGAddict) so you may wish to reconsider making your site more accessible. Javascript can be used to spread ransomware so having it enabled by default nowadays is asking for trouble.

Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks for your time in keeping that mod list up to date, if it wasn't for you doing that I'd probably not bother even trying to replay. However, aren't there mega-mod types like for BG where bugfixes have largely been aggregated into an individual mod and Deus Ex/Morrowind where graphics mods have been integrated into single mega-mods?

I don't have the free time to go through each of those mods and work out what is worth adding and what isn't and what will work well together, not anymore. I'm happy with a general face-lift and bugfix than needing to customise to my exact desires. An exception being replacing the 3d heads with portraits, that's my only exact desire : )
