Too bad it doesn't work with NWN2 at all... why would you even respond with a completely different game?
chiefdad: my problem was fixed by downloading the "openAL" from beamdog customer support I did not find this myself full credit goes to karnak1
Beamdog had nothing to do with this game. WTF
Kruncz: Hi! This might help you. I believe it's an universal solution to these kinds of errors.
I got almost the same problem, the difference was I got this with NWN 1 enchanced edition. I had tried almost everything, including updating soft, installing/reinstalling libraries, directx etc. I even did a hard reset for my windows, nothing helped. Then I found a guide where a guy explained the problem shows when a DLL file is missing or is corrupted (like 32-bit on 64-bit system and vice versa)
First you have to find which file is corrupted. Download "
Dependency Walker" (I can't post links ATM, you can dwonload the program typing into google).
When you have opened the program make sure that
view -> show full paths is selected
Then you have to select an EXE file. Mine was in gog galaxy\games\Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition\bin\win32. Select the EXE file in Dependency Walker.
You will get a list with DLLs which program is using. Sort them by CPU value (look image1 in the attacment). Now find all DLLs where the value is red, like in the image. Ignore files that are missing, it's normal, their absence don't produce any errors.
When you located your corrupted DLLs you need to fix them (delete, change or install libraries?). I'm not sure for 100% percent, because in my case "OPENALL32.DLL" was the one which made the troubles. I typed this into google and found this:
"Windows: My Game Won't Launch Or Is Crashing On Launch" on the offical beamdog site (i can't post links sry). There is a solution.
I reinstalled OpenAL library and the game magically started working.
I hope that works for you. Regards
Completely different game. WTF
SyrusGreycloak: Links are dead.
BigJake123: Use web.archive.org to find the article (look for links from 2019). In the article is a link to the software.
The links are for the wrong game. WTF
