Greetings!

So I recently got a new laptop with windows 8 (gross, but I had no choice, my old one died). I loaded up NWN2 on it and put some mods I had from my old laptop into the game (Documents/override folder). I don't think this was the problem, but when I started a new campaign (OC) and went to fort locke, neeshka was not there and the guards or soldiers that were persecuting her were just standing there. You couldn't talk to them or anything. I figured if I do some quests she'll show up eventually, so I did the commander tann quest and the bandit quest and then I just couldn't leave to go to Highcliff. I'm really frustrated because this is one of my favorite games, to me it has a pretty big replay value. I tried replacing the ros file (I looked around a bit, thought it might work) but nothing. Anyone have any insight?
Did you install it in Program Files (x86)......?
Are you running it as administrator?

Sound to me a glitch in the script execution. Sometimes one has bad luck and is necessary to load a previous save (Before entering Fort locker should be ideal) or to use the debug mode to manually executed the scripts. I can't remember well, but I'm very sure I had similar problem once time years ago with Neeshka.

I was running as administrator and in compatibility mode for windows 7 (Since it worked fine with my windows 7 computer.) and still had the same problem. I just uninstalled it and re-installed it running the installer as admin and we're gonna try that now.

Well I've uninstalled it and removed all my saves (and my old laptop is dead, I can't get anything off of it right now). I have no idea how to use the debug mode to manually execute the scripts :/

Just make sure that it's not in Program Files (x86) ....
And that you disable your anti virus software before you install it.
Thanks guys! I fixed it though. Just for future reference for anyone else having this problem, I uninstalled it, hit "run as administrator" on the installer (nwn2 setup file) and installed it that way. Once it was installed I made sure I ran the actual program as admin. Just got to Fort Locke and Neeshka is there fighting with the dudes!

Its not in program files, its in the C drive under GOG games. And I do have kaspersky anti-virus, but it didn't seem to affect it. If something weird happens again I'll make sure to disable it. Thanks everyone!
