Hi folks,

I've just purchased this gem.
Does anyone know of any must have mods that I should install before starting on some RPG goodness? :)

Thanks.
If you have not seen this allready I would go with what etb lists here. Enjoy.

Do you mean modules or modifications?

If modules, http://www.gog.com/en/forum/neverwinter_nights_diamond/some_single_player_module_pearls has some great suggestions

If modifications, http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/199/index/3275241 has an enormous list of community reccomended graphical mods, ai improvemnts, bug fixes, tools, info on how to cheat, links and more.

Have fun :)
A good module to start is The Peasant. Level 1, nice story and SP. I love it.
Darkness over Daggerfall was really nice.
Darkness over Daggerford used to be a bioware premium module ( made by pro that got paid to do it and you had to buy the module when it came out at first but it is free now).

here the address: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=5122

if you played Eye of the Beholder 1 from Westwood studion that came out in 1991 then you might want to try the remake by Wolfspirit ( he/she tried to make it like the original with all the good and bad thing).

here the address : http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=4029

But there is also the one from Rick Francis and teh EOB team, this 1 use the same lvl design of the original but it was made to be better and more challenging, this 1 got some HUGE hak pack to go with it but it look really amazing.

Here the address : http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=4028

And if your are a real fan of EOB like me, get both.

Also go join a nice online PW (persistent world) to play with other because no single player module can beat that. here the link for the top list on nwn vault:

http://nwvault.ign.com/fms/TopRated.php?content=gameworld

Most of them will have a web page with information about the world so read before you join, because some allow or forbid class, some need many hak pack to download and install, some allow or forbid PvP (player versus player) and lot more stuff, so reading about the world first is essensial IMHO (in my humble opinion).

Module that are part of a serie are normaly of higher quality because of the time investement needed to make them so you could check those out too.

and if you feel like playing the really bad guy in single player module check the Blackguard serie 1 to 3.

hope you enjoy my selection and advice.

bye and have fun.

Download the dreamcatcher series. I think it's Mark Miller? And download the whole series. The game will play much more seamlessly that way.
As mentioned, Darkness over Daggerford was fun, though a bit easy at the end.

I don't think any are "must have", but take a look through:

Tortured Hearts, Hex Coda, and Dance with Rogues spring to mind.

Yeah but Dance with Rogues has adult content, particularly at the beginning..
Indeed, and a good warning. I changed some of the in-game female armors because they were a bit ridiculous. It's been a while, but I seem to recall thongs and metal bikinis, with lots of netting.
Among the ones I'd suggest:

Honor Among Thieves: One of the best modules out there if you're playing a thief or a rogue - light on combat, heavy on dialogue, puzzles and traps - lots of choices and consequences, branching paths for the main quest, most missions you get have multiple ways to be solved. Basically, a masterpiece.

Bastard of Kosigan (series - currently chapters 2-4 are translated and 5 is in french only): This one pretty much requires to play a strength-based character due to difficult combats - still, there's lots of dialogues with possibilities to make choices with appropriate consequences. Also, decisions you make in a module affect the following modules if you choose to import a character. The setting is awesome, also - however, I believe it'd have been even greater if the author could've done without the fantasy elements.

Runes of Blood, Sapphire Star: Heavily open-ended, free-form modules. Haven't played them, but they're quite higly regarded as far as I know.

Tales of Celts: Roleplaying-focused module whose quests, dialogues and encounters are almost entirely dependant on the type of character you choose to play - basically it's almost like playing six-seven different modules. Strong focus on choices/consequences and skill-based gameplay.

Tortured Hearts II: Possibly the most open-ended module you can find in the Vault, I didn't really like the first one due to awkward writing and boring quests (though the first city was awesome), but this one is truly great. Adds a complex custom crafting system, you can own a boat, houses, an upgreadable restaurant, has many well-made henchmen, lots of quests with multiple paths and so on. It's also MASSIVE to say the least - 150-200 hours of gameplay guaranteed.
