I'm looking to play on PWs again in NWN1. I followed the instructions to get the unique CD keys, and have them. However, when I go to GOG Galaxy to the CD Key Changer and enter the CD keys, the "Save and close" option at the bottom is greyed out and I can't click it to save the unique CD key. At first I copied and pasted them into each box, and the save button was greyed. Then I manually typed the keys in, and still the button to save was greyed out. I thought maybe the issue was that I was doing it through Galaxy, so went to gog.com to see if I could change the keys there, and I didn't see a way to change the keys there.

I've searched the Forums, but didn't come across anyone else who had this problem. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help much appreciated!

IIRC you have to manually copy paste the key in one of the files. I am busy right know, so give me a day and I will come back to youI think somewhere is a description as well....support page maybe? I will try to find it ;)

EDIT: Hah, that was easy ;)

Goodaltgamer,

Thank you so much for the help! The first link you added in edit was info I already had. But you had mentioned having to copy and paste into a file... I recall having read that when going through the forums the other day, so looked for the post I thought had info on that. Indeed, I needed to change the Cd keys in the nwncdkey.ini file. Once I did that, I was able to enter the CD key in the CD key changer in GOG Galaxy, and was able to save those new unique CD keys to the game.

I appreciate your help with this!

nikkial,

You arrrrrrrrrrre welcome ;)

Just strange that the so called solution from GOG is so misleading......
I just think the GOG solution is incomplete. It's correct in what you need to do to get the unique CD key... it just doesn't mention that you need to change the.ini before being able to change the CD key for the game!

I opened a ticket and did inform them, so let's see what will happen :D
To err is human, so maybe the person writing it, just forgotten it ;)

Thanks for opening that ticket to let them know. Hopefully it will help some folks in the future who are trying to set up those CD keys. :)
