Hey all, i've got another question.

I just installed the Henchmen AI from here...
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Hakpaks.Detail&id=4510
...because i had problems getting my henchmen to fight like i want in HotU (the Drow girl somehow refuses to fight after she casts Invisibility on herself & other stuff). I downloaded the installer and just checked the options that i have SoU and HotU installed and that henchmen never attack their masters. I didn't want any of the bundled inventory stuff and i didn't want to access my henchmans inventory in the original campaign.

Well, everything went fine, except that i now cannot use the radial menu to access my henchmens inventory even in the SoU and HotU campaigns. The only way i got that to work again is to enable inventory management as a whole and get it in the original campaign too, what i don't want. I can perfectly open the SoU and the HotU henchman inventory via dialogue, so it's not entirely broken, but using the radial menu goes faster and can be done even when shopping (= talking to a merchant).

Anyone's got an idea how to get my radial menu back to 100% functionality? WITHOUT enabling inventory access in the OC of course! (I really don't want this)

If not i probably just have to see this as some more realism as for i cannot just peek in their backpacks from meters away...

Ummmmm, errrrrr, no.... sorry. It's a global setting I believe and there's basically only the NWN OC that doesn;t allow you to look into companions inventory, so I guess most people go with the flow.

Can't you just enable it and then... not look? *cheeky grin*

p.s. NEVER turn on the inventory stacking option, and wandering monsters break doors searching for you can break games community modules as well.

Have fun :)
Yea, i read through the whole thing again and decided to go with the accessible inventory. After all the only thing one has to watch out for seems to be clearing the inventory between chapter changes and while leveling up in Helms Hold and Luskan. At first i thought there will be more possible bugs with this feature, but hey, seems to be better than i thought. ;)

And yes, i didn't pick the options you mentioned. I just took the inventory management with the cheap box and the not-upgrading henchmen items and the "never attack master" option. Oh and i also picked the henchmen leveling above lvl 14 because it seems safe.

I didn't even touch the Monster AI at all because of possible bugs in community modules. Is just the plain monster AI safe? Could i use that too without breaking something important elsewhere?

Monster AI is safe, excellent even. That's the reason I use the override. And it is originally written for OC and the two expansions, tho it works on most community modules too. (It will break a tiny amount of community modules because they have their own conflicting AI, but authors tend to say they have a custom AI on their vault page so you can just uninstall it for that one module.) Uninstalling just means running the installer again so it is very easy to do.

There's errr 3 versions of the monster AI? Basic, .........??, and monsters smash down doors? Certainly the basic one is ok. The 2nd one can be good (iirc, sorry it's been a while since i installed it and I can't check it atm), it's mostly the breaking down doors one that is very dangerous.

I reccomend making multiple override folders. A basic one with GUI enhancements like coloured spell and feat icons for playing online. A copy of that with your other preferred overrides but no AI for single player. And a copy of that one with the AI for single player. just makes switching between them easy with a simple rename.

Have fun :)
Thanks for your answers. :)

Will add the Basic Monster AI then, too.

EDIT: Monster stealth and Monster summoning familiars should be safe too, yes? ;)

Never had any problems with those features, Grombart. The only issue with Monster Stealth (mentioned in the readme, I believe) is that few monsters actually have the necessary skill ranks/feats despite looking all *shneakey like* and being called "Assassin Extraordinaire". That, however, is Bioware's fault; it has nothing to do with the AI override.
Having great fun so far with the new AI.

Again thanks for your answers! :)
