Chipster: Here's a reprint of an ancient topic about this from the original Bioware boards. The remedy is listed under the section "The Rehiring Problem". It's essentially the same as described in your reference. It's always worked before so dunno why not for you. Try killing her (she'll reappear in the temple after death) and then have your PC killed (unequip all gear makes this faster) to reset the faction. After the faction reset, try talking to her first without her contract and if that doesn't work with it inventory. That's about the only other way to try to reset all the variables.

BUT...you could just hire a different hench for rest of the trip to Ch2, of course. Linu will appear as a new hench in Ch2 but if you missed getting her ammy reward, you may need to spawn it with the console to set things right.

In the future, issues like this and many others can be bypassed with frequent saving. Otherwise, tedious repetition is likely the only alternative.
