I bought and installed the game yesterday, and it's running fine on my computer now that I installed the update to fix the metallic issue, but it still seems like something is missing.

I can't find any screens to compare my version of the game to someone else's. I know the game is pretty old, so the graphics are pretty outdated, but it still looks pretty awful. I just wanted to make sure if my game was working 100% correctly or not.

screens:

The first screen is a bit weird. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game with none of my normal processes started up (anti-virus software, etc.). The main menu was perfectly fine before I reinstalled, but now it seems weird. I don't really care about it too much, I just wanted to know if anybody knew what the problem for that was.

Running the game @ 1366x768, if it helps.
no thats definitely not what itś supposed to look like (or at least, I've never seen it like that before)
have you tried changing the graphics settings in-game? turning character environment mapping on and off? changing texture size/quality?

Yeah I did.
But I suppose I got the answer I needed just now, unless anyone else feels the need to refute it. I just thought it wasn't as good as it was supposed to be, but I could have easily been mistaken.

you are not mistaken. heres some pictures of what NWN can look like:

was it the critical rebuild you used to fix the metallic issue?

what graphics card are you using? have you installed the latest drivers?
Yes, I used the critical rebuild.

I'm playing this game on my laptop. It's an Intel integrated chip(Mobile Intel 4 Series).

To me, it seems like some textures are missing. If you've played Halo2, the game had a problem where if you traveled too fast in the level, the texture wouldn't load fast enough and you'd see...something else. Just not the intended texture. That's what these graphics are reminding me off. The graphics look like they haven't completely loaded what they are supposed to load. I wasn't sure if something was messing up from the install, or that's just how it's supposed to be.

Oh, Wow, I just reread the post by chance. I noticed that you said that's NOT what it supposed to look like.

I'm running the game on Win7 x64bit. I running it in compatibility mode (XP, SP2) and administrator mode. As previously stated, I have a Moblie Intel 4 Series Graphic Chip.
I installed the game using the GOG installer(the one big download), if it makes a difference. I'm thinking I should just go download a torrent of the CDs and install the game using those.

That is DEFINITELY not what the game's supposed to look like. If you check the thread on the metallic colors, on the first or second page there's a change that should be made to an integrated graphics card to get textures to load up properly. That should be what you're looking for. I believe you right click on desktop, go to graphics properties, choose 3D settings, and change FORCE ST3C Texture Compression to 'On'. Or S3TC. Or something. You'll see it, it's pretty obvious. That might fix it.

Thanks for the help. I found the link that told me what to do, but now the problem is that I can't find OpenGL anywhere. When I click on the "3D Settings", nothing about OpenGL is anywhere. I tried to use the "configure" option in the NVN menu (before you actually play the game) and test the settings, but it says that OpenGL is not installed on my computer.
I've updated my driver twice now, so I'm not exactly sure how I'm supposed to get OpenGL to work...I might end up downloading a previous driver to try it out.

I didn't change anything about OpenGL. Did you try just changing the setting I mentioned, or does your computer not have it?

It didn't have it for some reason. It doesn't matter now though, I fixed it!
I took the advice of SmbRammy from this page. I couldn't do anything about ST3C because I couldn't find it, and OpenGL was nowhere to be found on my computer, but I changed the anisotropic filtering to x16. It seemed to fix everything.
