The title basically says it all. I am playing multiplayer with a buddy online and when one of us dies and i (the party leader) go to load the game my game crashes to desktop and my buddy is sent to the main menu.

we are playing the pool of radiance module

we also seem to be gettin alot of strange crashes like anytime we alt tab

i was reading on here about some problems with running it on 7.............

i have the Good old games version does that make any difference because i am running on windows 7 x64 and have had no problems other than the ones listed

any input would be greatly appreciated

The gog version differs in little to no way from the retail version of the game, other than the little goodies you get ;). I'm sorry, but I don't really know the answer to your problems, however a search on the official NWN forums may help more(also, I'm sure someone will be around here soon with the right answer, if you want to wait).

It sounds like you are running the server from the main game. Try running the Stand alone server. It should already be in your game folder.

yes but when we use the nwserver.exe it does not allow us to use the save game that we have ...........


we can load it and start at the beginning and all our quests n XP and everything are still there but we have to start from the beginning and kill all the creatures again .......

also i cannot figure out how to save or load from the nwserver.exe

Do you have windows mode set in your nwn.ini ?

Is the deskTop resilution on the desk top better then it is in the game?

You can save from the standalone server screen.

if you save from the standalone serever screen how would you load it.?


and also i cannot alt tab out of the game to get to that

and i do not wish to play in windowed mode that is cheasy

When you alt tab out of the game, You go into windows mode. If windows mode is not set that may be the reason you are crashing. You then hit alt........


OOps you are saying alt- tab

You should be getting out of the game useing alt-enter. This will toggle back and forth between windows mode and full screen. Yes alt tab can work bat has always had more bugs with it.

my last problem would be that i have this save file that we played a few hours on and we dont want to fight all these beasts all over again is there a way to load in the nwserver.exe?

Yes, saved games are loaded the same way as normal games with the stand alone server. The saved games are just listed after all of the normal modules in the pull down list.

ok i got the server working and added the line into the ini file......

but the alt enter and alt tab still cause the game to crash........

so i cannot get out of the game to get to the server screen and save

Are you running as Admin?

Running the game in XP compatibility mode.

And have the game installed anwhere but the programs folder?

I have heard that the game does not work right in the programs folder with win7/vista.

yes i do have it installed in the program files x86 folder but this seems to be the only problem i am having and would really rather not reinstall all of this again

You do not have to reinstall it. You should be able to just drag or copy it to a differant location. Try copying it to c:\ then running it from there. The only other thing I can think of is to tone down the graphics driver. \

Does it crash when tring to alt-enter out of the OC also. Or is this just happening with pool of radiance?

The only other option I can see if this does not work would be to leave the game then save it. then rejoin the game. But that just sounds like a pain. There is always the interval auto save option with the server.
