Ok so after many years I returned to NWN and I have a question. I wanted to play a monk but something is bothering me about the flurry of blows. In NWN 2 when you turn it on, it shows you in character sheet, in attack bonus section that you get additional attack. In NWN that is not the case. I have only one attack yet I still get the penalty. I am not very familiar with DnD rules and stuff and I wonder if it works properly or did I run into some kind of bug?
This question / problem has been solved by Taro94image
>>>When activated outside of combat, a combat mode becomes active right away, but when activated in combat, the mode becomes active at the start of the character's next combat round. In contrast, manually deactivating a combat mode takes effect right away, even in combat (with the exception that some mode effects will linger until the end of the round). Combat modes are automatically deactivated when a character takes a non-combat action (e.g. moving to a clicked location) and when a character leaves combat (e.g. the last enemy in range dies).

http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_mode
In NWN you get your attack, but it's not part of your regular attacks per round, it's a free attack - this means that when attacking, right after your first attack in a round you will perform another one with the same attack bonus. This, in fact, is better than having simply more attacks per round, because this way your extra attack can be performed with full AB. So don't worry, your extra attack will be there in combat, it's simply not listed.

It's worth to mention that the Community Patch fixes the annoying behavior of cancelling combat modes on a non-combat action. With it, you can have a combat mode turned on permanently, which is a much more natural behavior.

Additionally, the Community Patch fixes almost all major bugs still lingering in the last official game version, 1.69, is fully compatible with multiplayer with people without it and restores two prestige classes left in the files by BioWare but never implemented.
Ok, thakns for answering, I better try this community patch since this mode really pissed me off with the constant deactivation. Thanks again and cya around.

You can find the patch's entry here. You should download the most recent version, which is 1.72 rc2, but note that the final release of the Community Patch is coming soon and you'll do well to check once a week (or at least once a month) to see if it's been released yet. Download and install it as soon as you find out it's out. :)

Pity that it look like that Player Resource Consortium isn't compatible with Community patch. I remember I tried to make them work together sometime last year

Don't know about that as I've never really used the PRC - I find it way too unbalanced. I think modules designed with PRC should work no problem with Community Patch installed, however, (as Shadooow, its author, made sure that if any conflicts arise, hak paks have priority over the Patch).
Hmm, I installed the community patch but the flurry of blows mode still gets deactivated after I move. Tried the older version of cp and it was still the same.

Have you installed the rc2 version?

Oh, I think I know the reason!
In order to make full use of the patch, you need to download Neverwinter Nights Client Extender - it's a modified game exe that allows the patch to implement some of its changes (and also implements several on its own, for example removes the annoying wait for the master server when attempting multiplayer).

Here it is:

Are you sure - I tried starting patched game with new loader exe, tried to patch it with pat file, tried to repatch it back with community patch, tried nboth adding and removing nwnxc_nwnxbridge.dll - modes still deactevated as soon as I make one step and additionally restored prc are disappeared yet again. Maybe you used some other exe extender?

Yes, I'm sure, you can find that change noted here:

Make sure you have nwncx_patch.dll in your NWN folder.
Is there a way to make permanent Flurry of Blows work in the Enhanced Edition? The community patch 1.72rc5 for EE works but the required Client Extender does not.
