Greetings and Salutations. I'm Cookie, and I've been playing role-play games for most of my 46 years. I loved the original neverwinter, and played online for years. I was active in several servers and enjoyed the various content that was available. Having my Vamp transform into a bat, and burn in daylight was awesome. I kinda got away from the series with the launching of NwN 2, as they pretty much locked out any risqué content which to me was half the fun. I have since been stuck in this mmo world where you basically buy the game, and then pay out the rear to play any of the content, with decent equipment and gear. I miss those days of buying a game and playing with others who are like minded and not having to take a second job just to enjoy all the cool toys. So I dug my NwN platinum disks out and found them unreadable. I know I can repurchase the game via gog, and that it is pretty affordable, but really don't have the desire to buy the game a 3rd time if the community is gone, or the content is stale as it was with nwn 2.

Another concern I have is that I have windows 10 running natively on a MacBook Pro. Will the game even play? Did NwN 2 finally get past all the censors that were built in from launch? Are there still folks playing either game or are those 'glory days' gone? Thanks in advance for your time.

The community is small, but still active. There are some persistent worlds with active playerbases, where you can find 20+ players on a regular basis.

Not to mention this forum is still very active, which says a lot about the current state of this game's community. ;)

I wasn't there from the beginning to see any of this censorship you're talking about, but I can tell you that when I came around, there was no locking out of risqué content in NWN2.

Well as I said its been years, but when NwN2 came out there were many complaints that they had locked down what you could do with the game, because "atari" I believe was offended by some of the adult content that had hit NwN. As I said I really didn't play it very long, seemed like a cool game but I was liking the online gaming much better
Thanks for your responses..

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about, now. It was the time of the big adult game scandals like GTA Hot Coffee and the Oblivion forced re-rating because of modders making adult-oriented content, and some said the clothing in the original NWN2 campaign was overly covering because of it. Well, modders came out with the "Always Summer" clothing replacement to lighten up the clothing coverage, and there were several nude packs and adult-oriented modules soon after, and there were no negative consequences. There aren't any safeguards against adding or using adult content in NWN2.

True, just because of the variety of characters and ways you can play NWN series, the game fun can last a very long time and has good replay value. I often dust it off every few years to take it out for a test drive just like any other great game (fallout series, oblivion/skyrim, etc).

Well I'm attempting to do just that, game seems to run well on my 2012 MacBook pro running windows 10 bootcamp, I had went ahead and repurchased it through GOG, as my disks were pretty much done, now if they will just send me my keys I'll attempt to find a server. thanks for all the responses...
