I have ran into the Dorna wont disable traps or pick locks anymore bug that a lot of people run into. It isnt an issue of her not having enough skill in these as even if you give her 200 in both primary stats (so 100+ skill) she still wont. Firing and rehiring her doesnt fix it.

I havent seen a solution to this problem in any of the other threads mentioning it, anyone know of one here or am I just going to have to shitcan her. As far as I have seen in other threads once this bug hits it's permanent.

In all my play throughs, I have never seen this issue.

It may be a long shot, But I remember someone talking about a similar problem.

But they had set up quick bar, shortcuts for those abilities for their henchman.

If you have done that. Clear them and try setting new ones. Sometimes when your henchman levels up, it becomes essentially a different character, and shortcuts on the quick bar no longer work.

That was me on another thread you are mentioning. That solution unfortunately didnt work. This is a whole other bug though, if you type Dorna wont disarm or wont pick into google you will see a lot of people have been effected by it.

As something partially related, is there any way to force rest via console? Shadow of Undrentides complete and total garbage rest system is complete and total garbage and it has been about 3 hours of gameplay since the last time my character was able to rest, which since I am a wizard and I lose all of my fucking summons and buffs every time a map transition or garbage cutscene happens is a major problem.

I have no idea how anyone could see this terrible terrible resting mechanic and find it acceptable, whoever okayed this needs to be kicked in the head repeatedly until they see the face of god.

The resting restrictions are a choice aimed at being more like Pen and Paper D&D where no self respecting DM, would let you rest anywhere at any time. It increases the challenge if you have to conserve your spells. It isn't something I notice that much because I usually play Fighter/Rogues.

Have to talked to Dorna to cycled the "Don't Help me with locked...". I would flip this conversation a couple of time and then try to open a locked door and see what she does?

I usually get annoyed because ever NPC seems to default to "helping" even if they don't know how to pick a lock and will end up breaking down doors unless you remember to tell them not to help.

It's not the idea of the mechanic itself that is the problem. That's actually pretty good. It's that there is no way to make a room secure and no way to see which rooms count as secure. If I could say, close the doors to a room and then lock them and then put traps behind them, and then have a good idea the room is secure and then rest, that would be fine. But it doesnt work like that you just have to find the random areas of the map where you can rest.

Yeah I tried adjusting her tactics and I tried giving her large buffs to her skills (incase it really was something related to skills). Didnt help. I wonder what causes this bug.

Try the following link:

haven't tried it myself yet.
I ran into this problem with Dorna upon starting the Interlude at the oasis where you get Desert Fury back when I was playing the original version of the game, and this debug fix worked. Now i am having this problem at the Crypt Tower in the final chapter in EE, and the debug fix doesn't work. Exasperating AF!

And it's already annoying enough that henchmen so often break "follow" or "guard" or even "stand" orders to go run off -- often right across a revealed trap -- to melee the fifth nearest enemy, even though you deliberately equipped their missile weapon to keep them from doing so.

Honestly, if you play NWN with a henchman, the name of the game should be changed to Suicide Watch, where the objective is to try and keep your perpetually suicidal companion from self-harm.

I ran into this bug years ago. I solved it by talking to Dorna and told her to focus only on her Rogue levels instead of her Cleric levels. I talked to her again and ordered her to disable traps when she finds them. It worked and she disabled them. After, I told her to focus of her Cleric levels only so she can cast spells again.

That was a long time ago. I don't know if it will work for the EE version.
