Hi, I just installed NWShader and NWNCQ, and although it certainly improves on NWN visuals and I'm not having lag problems or such, I think maybe I am not using it properly because I don't get the effects showing on screenshots like this one:

I don't know if there is something I need to check in the GUI config app in order to make it work. One thing I've noticed is if I check some shader effects on the shader tab, I go into NWN and see no difference; then I close NWN, go back to the GUI app and all shaders are off no matter what I selected before. Is this normal or am I running into some problem here?
I already visited the NWShader wiki but have been unable to find any solution yet.

It's been a while since I installed them, but now that I think about it, I recall that certain shaders simply don't work with certain hardware combinations. For instance, I never could get Depth Of Field working properly and had to leave it disabled. I'm not sure if you're seeing the same issue - but it sounds like you're saying that *none* of the filters are working.

The developer is pretty active on the Bioware social network, and was very responsive to questions that I had when I installed it - you may want to ask in there:

Well, I can't really say for certain; If it's working in some way it is indeed very subtle cos I can't tell any difference. Certainly, it looks nothing like the screenshot above.
Thanks for the link, I'll go check there.

EDIT: Finally I got it working! The NWShader release I was using was the latest one, Chronepsis with the 0.2.3.0 patch, which didn't work for me. I am using now the one before that, Bahamut. Here's the link:

It works flawlessly on my system, and with NWNCQ also installed, the visual change is nothing short of amazing. Thanks everybody.

these are more minor enhancements but they still add...

Colorized spell icons: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Other.Detail&id=1450
Enhanced Class Icons: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Textures.Detail&id=107
Enhanced Skill Icons: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Textures.Detail&id=108

They replace the monochrome (black + single color) spell, class, and skill icons with full color versions which makes them look amazingly better.
I also like to use the camera mod with NWNCQ so you get a first person perspective ( you can zoom way out as well or anything in between). I use the one from ROMA CZ. it makes the game much more immersive, like playing morrowind in first person perspective. just use version 1 because version 2 says its has a virus in it even though ppl say it completely safe, version 1 works great anyway. also I just added a mod to make many monsters more detailed and improved over the original designs. its called Creature Override Compilation by cervantes. now if I could find one to improve the humanoid type enemies and npc's it will be complete. Anyone know of a good model/texture pack for those ?

I made a short video showing nwncq with the first person mod on youtube just yesterday ^^

Alternate Combat Animations v4.0

Not graphics but visuals nonetheless, very nice new combat styles.
Barbarian style is my favorite, not quite as barbarish as one might think.
How do you install these overrides? I put them in my overrides folder in the open (ie - not in any subfolders) but when I run the .bat file to activate them I keep getting messages that the files are duplicated or can't be found.

What did I do wrong?
