Three classes total is the max for a given character in NWN1.

Thanks I was afraid of that guess I will just have to make do
what 3 classes? its very very easy to ruin a character via multi classing too much. You get XP penalties, and your abilities plain suck (because they require that you stick to a class)
you need to have very extensive knowledge of the system and do the math beforehand to multiclass, otherwise you are shooting yourself in the foot.
This should give you a pretty good idea about builds for your character. These are all epic but should help a little eh?

I also used to like to test out toons with this nice little character creator.

I just got it so at least it a lesson learned now than later. ;) I will think about it when I make my next character. My character is turning out ok so far. I admit it was a little tough in chap. 1 but so far in chap. 2 I'm smashin the baddies. (Paladin lv.3,Rouge lv.3,and fighter lv. 5 weird combo I know :P) I think I can finish the game with this character ( I mean I will just see it as a good challenge) Also thanks ChristopherRobin for the links I will use it for my new character.

And can rogues be lawful good? I thought they couldn't be lawful in 3e

my good is 100 and my lawful is 85
the other 15 is missing because of my stealing hahaha
I've never been a big fan of Paladins, but you really can't go wrong with any rogue-fighter combination. Your biggest problem will be spreading out your Ability points. Charisma and Wisdom are usually your throwaway slots for a rogue or fighter, but Paladins need these high.

Still, it's a decent build. Should be fine for getting through the official campaign.

I second this sentiment - rogue-(fighter/monk/barbarian) multiclassing - especially in the original campaign. All melee classes benefit from taking at least one level of Rogue. Given the number of traps - both on chests and on floors - putting some points into disable traps will allow melee classes to disarm (or at least flag) traps. This lets you take any companion, and not just rely on the thief. Putting points into Use Magic Device will allow all classes to use the spells they pick up. The bonus sneak attack damage will trigger when you attack an enemy who isn't attacking you (certain restrictions apply). If you aren't dedicated to a single class, adding a level of Rogue will make life much easier for you.
My first ever NWN character was a wizard/sorcerer/bard... it was horrendous :P

melee classes rule NWN, even though they drool in pen and paper.

if you play a caster, DO NOT lose caster levels. and NEVER summon anything... familiar, animal companion, henchmen, and summoned monsters all VASTLY drain your XP gain, making you hugely weaker.
I take the "hit'" for having henchmen in custom campaigns where they actually have dialog (IIRC they were also good in hordes of the underdark... but had nothing interesting to say in first two campaigns... IIRC).

You can take prestige classes, but only if they give you full caster progression (that is, +1 to caster level for every level of the prestige class), otherwise you are shafting yourself.

enemies spawn base on your level... to a degree! that is, if you are high enough level you wipe the floor with them... also, loot and XP increase the more power the enemy is. and loot from treasure chests increases based on your level. its all very broken.
The best improvement in NWN2 is the cancellation of the XP penalty for having summoned / animal companion / familiar.

adding the special equipment at least keeps my charisma up and the immune perks pay off

Yes, they can. It seems to have been one of the important design points in 3e: if you're playing one of the iconic classes (fighting-man > fighter, thief > rogue, magic-user > wizard, cleric > cleric), you can pick any alignment.
#22 or 31 in this tips from the NWN community are ways to relevel your character if you want to rebuild him/her but stay in the same campaign.

Have fun :)

What does (cc) means by the skill points? For example in http://nwn.bioware.com/underdark/character_whirlingdeath.html level 1 bard, now I have still 4 points remaining. Does (cc) means I can choose what I like or that I should save them?
