Hi everyone,
I noticed a bug:
a texture with alpha channel (transparent texture) show over the transparency directly the static objects (terrain, trees, houses) and not the dynamic (pc, npc).
In the attached image you can see that the grass transparency reveals the terrain texture behind the PC.
My video card is a recent amd radeon.
Is there a solution?

There's nothing wrong with that image. What you are seeing is not terrain behind the PC, it is foliage in the foreground -- look carefully. Because of the very low quality, it can appear in screenshots to be what you say, but it isn't. Notice where the outline (the edge of the grass) continues on past the outline of the PC in an unbroken shape. In game it looks different where there's motion.

Nope, i can assure that it's the terrain texture. In motion it's noticeable.

*Sigh* If you say so.

Yes, that bug is also clearly noticeable in crypt tileset: there are a portal tile with a transparent spiderweb.
doctorcaligarissss is correct. Unfortunately I remember that and didn't find a solution to it and presumed it's related to modern AMD/ATi hardware/drivers, I don't know if Nvidia systems have the same problems too, if they don't it may explain why someone could incorrectly presume that doctorcaligarissss is wrong.

A number of the games old graphics features don't seem to work anymore, at least on AMD hardware, it's possible that one of those features that needs to be disabled for it to work decently could avoid this transparency problem from happening. At least it's only a minor visual bug rather than something serious.

doctorcaligarissss, have you recently completed HotU, I'm interested in knowing if you had any terrain problems that appeared as if textures were missing in certain locations?
I have missing textures on the new Hotu tilesets like the icy wastes, also with some placeables, like mirrors. As has been suggested it seems to be features that are meant to be transparent, or reflective, that cause problems. I think basically NWN just hates Radeons, none of these problems seem to manifest on Nvidia cards.

The only solution I've found is to change texture settings to Compatibility mode which unfortunately makes everything look a bit hideous, but visible. It may be possible to use a texture replacement pack like NWNCQ to alleviate ugly Compatibility mode textures.
I had and ATI card and now i possess an Nvidia now, and the problem persist even here, KOTOR 1-2 have the same problem, i had to disable grass or things turned transparent while walking into it

No solution that doesn't make the game look like the bad child of Frankenstein was found. For the first NWN all shiny surface must be disabled as well, otherwise the constant flashing where reflective surface are present would make the game unbearable

Hi, i never completed hotu. I only play online.
I never noticed problem in tilesets textures, except the transparent ones. I noticed that if you disable the enviromnent mapping, some textures will be transparent.

pS: I played the game in my old pentium 4 with geforce 6200 agp and the problem is there too.
