We might possibly go over the 3-hour mark. We will finish this Saturday.

I had a wonderful time already. It was great to play with some old friends and new ones alike. I hope you have all enjoyed it as much as I have!

--------------------

Here's what you need to know:

Your background story:

Everyone in the group is appox 23 years old. You live in a very civilized and peaceful time period, devoid of magic -- though you're taught at a young age that magic does exist, but is rarely seen.

After your state-mandated schooling finished at the age of 18, you set off on your own destiny. You're looking for work and maybe even love.

When you return to your home town of Lazareth for your 5-year reunion, you meet up with your friends. Some are wildly successful already, some not so much. But one of your more flamboyant friends, Edward, was already a famous adventurer. While at the party, he spoke vividly about the sights he had seen: giants in the snowy mountains, criminals in the desert underground and creatures devoid of shape in the swamps.

At some point during the party, he pulls you and your closest friends aside and tells you about a map he found after he sneaked through a pirate raid on Baywatch -- a town far to the northeast.

"I'll need help," he says. "I'll need all of you guys. The treasure is protected by many traps and immortal guardians. But if we can get past them all, then we will own an ancient wizard's armory of magical equipment. Just think of what we could do with it. We could arm justice and law. Or we could use it ourselves and make a name for ourselves. Just imagine!"

Indeed, your imagination soars. And you all agree to help him find it.

He slips the map into his boot and says "Meet me at the southern foothills in three days' time. Bring all you can imagine for a grand adventure!"

You can't wait!

*******************

Everyone playing should write up the following over the next few weeks:

1) Name
2) Gender
3) Race (Only Human, Dwarf, Half-Elf, Halfling and Gnome allowed, no elves or half-orcs [elves and half-orcs are not permitted into society in this time period, so you wouldn't be able to go to school as such])
4) Class (may only choose: Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Rogue -- no magic or divine classes allowed for this campaign, but magical options will open up later in the campaign)
5) What has your character been doing these past 5 years?

**********************

You'll reach level 4 or 5ish by the time we finish the campaign. So plan for a character with strong role-play value and the ability to mitigate many different types of challenges while still able to bring something unique to the team. Talk among yourselves so you don't overlap strengths (4 barbarians will not help much).

If you have any questions, ask away!

Who is playing?

There's been a lot of maybes, but few "yeses." And we had an iffy time. So please confirm to me that you are playing.

CURRENTLY SIGNED UP:

Belsirk* - Ranger
Tinchairs* - Fighter
GreenHilltop
WingedCat13* - Rogue
AcidFlux
OmegaJebus* - Fighter
Advanced Hero

Been awhile since I've played, but I might be interested if another person is needed. I am in the same time zone as you so the times work for me.

Begin the nightmare, I'm GMT+1, but definitively Monday and Thursday will be impossible for me with said times.
Same than Belsirk, but thanks for letting me know. The time I played was good fun!

When I played 7-10ish back in 2007or8ish -- whenever we originally did the game -- we had a few Eurpopeans. One was from Sweden. And on our super-long journey through hell, we finished around 1am my time, so it was insane-late/early-morning Friday and he had to go to work. Poor guy. But I think they had a spectacular time. :)

Let me add one more time to the list: Saturday 7a-9a.

Yeah, Mondays and Thursday are out of the question for me too as I'm also in the +1 GMT zone, so that's around 2am in the morning for me. However I could do the Saturday, it just depends on what will my schedule look like - so far I've got one or two full around that time but if you decided on a date week in advance I'll be able to tell you roughly if I can come or not (got some flexible schedule).

It'll be 4-6 weeks I'd imagine before I can get it started. So you'll have lots of warning time.
I can do weekends, and maybe Wednesdays, but I'm pretty busy with school and musical pit.
But I would LOVE to play again, that was probably the most fun I've had with people online, and we barely played it, haha. I love the one-to-one interaction.
I'm in

:D

If I understood correclty:

Is this going to be some sort of a campaign? And if so: how long will it last?

AWESOME

Musical pit? Cool! What kind of music?
Is there anyone who cannot play Saturday morning who would like to play?

Also, the version we ran for the treasure hunt is the last version I have. I went through all my old back-up CDs and hard drive and I can't find anything newer. I also reviewed my old hotmail account.

I sent an email to my old Leefe-mate in Sweden who ran our servers. I'll see if he by some miraculous feat has the file. If he does, we'll use it. If not, we'll either play another fun mod together and i'll be a player or I'll just bite the bullet and build something fun in the chapter 3 Leefe build.

We will not play this Saturday. I'm looking 4-6 weeks into the future. We have enough people to play, so it's on. I'll give you an official starting date soon. I'll aim for 2 or 3 weeks for the duration. If some we have enough people who can play THUR and enough on SAT, I might even do 2 parallel campaigns.

Fairly soon, I will give you guys a background story to work with. Then you can build your characters on the forums, introduce yourselves and get your stories straight.

I should mention, this is going to be role-playing. So you'll act like your character would in the world -- like an actor.

I'll let you know the backstory of your characters and the world shortly. I just have to finish putting it together. Right now I've got a fun little quest for an item put together and everyone will be playing as group of tightly knit friends. I don't like to force folks into a back-story, but it'll help keep the group together for a quick game. If we end up doing a longer campaign in the future, then more unique backgrounds can be taken. We'll see how this one goes.
Oh, and no haks. I'm a hak-free kind of guy.

I'm playing cello this year for the musical Bye Bye Birdie.
