The lighting flickers in the first room, and most of the sprites do in the second. Any ideas?

Make sure you're running the newest version of the game from Gog.com, have Windows patched up through Windows Update, and are running the newest drivers for your GPU from Nvidia.com or AMD.com (or I guess Windows Update if you're on an Intel GPU).
