Just installed Myst on my XP-32 bit gaming rig. I've got some stuttering issues with the ingame video. I figured I'd try the fix that worked for my Vista laptop (which was to take the game OUT of compatibility mode), but when I deselect the option and click okay, it resets itself. I don't have to launch the program, just reopening the properties without doing anything else, shows that compatibility is back on. I can change the mode from win95 to win2k or another and it will stay, but I cannot remove it.
Any suggestions?

Same issue...its locked on Win95....everything is grayed out. Running Win7 32 bit
I even found the registry entry for the applictation compatibility flags -- deleted the flag for Myst, but when you open the compatibility properties, it is back to win95 compatibility mode.... and it recreates the registry flag. Wow.... just wow...... If manhandling the registry can't fix it, I'm not really sure what is going on.....
This is an odd issue. Since the game installs with that mode checked automatically I am assuming GOG wrote some kind of script for the installer to do so. Why I can disable this anyway and you guys cannot is beyond me though.
I have a 64bit OS and you both have a 32. Anyone else having this issue with 64bit?
Hi
If you need for some reason to disable any of the compatibility tab properties you need to delete registry responsible for that file.
To do so you need to delete registry in both branches - HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well.

This seems to be more of a widespread issue. Wouldn't it save time if the installer was re-released without it forcing compatibility? I'm not sure people are willing to mess with the registry for a product that is meant to be compatible with modern systems. Seems rather counter-intuitive.

Sure, we will look into that problem. Expect nonWin95comp installer later this day.
