Not a "remaster" at all.

It's Myst, built from the ground up in Unreal Engine. and releasing to Oculus Quest with other VR hardware and 2D flatscreen PC support to follow.

gaxtell1: So when I launch Myst and Riven, it loads up in ScummVM and then looks like it's a 16 bit app. Running on Win10, i7-8700, 32GB Ram, 1080Ti.

Is there some setting I'm unaware of? I thought these games had all been remastered.
I had a similar problem when I downloaded the Myst Series, I switched my screen resolution to 1600x900 and the quality was much improved! Hope that helps you!
I just learned something about myself after downloading the Myst Series (7 games), I played the first game of Myst and I had to shut it down almost immediately, after just 10 minutes of play I became so dizzy and nauseated to the point of almost puking my dinner up!
I wonder if anyone else has had similar symptoms like this from playing this type of game?

I've had that happen to me with a old Descent-style game. It has to do with the refresh rate. IIRC, changing it to something faster OR slower fixes the problem.

greatgreybeast: Is there any setting in the ScummVM controls to zoom back from the image a bit? While nothing is going to eliminate pixalization on giant modern LCDs, I also notice (in Myst anyway) that they've blown the images up to full screen - not the original presentation - and that's certainly not helping things any. The original art, in fact, is only 640x480 if you're including that original black frame. Take that away and it's even less. I suppose kids these days would be confused about why the game plays inside a giant black frame, but, in addition to being more "authentic" it would avoid shoving the pixels in your face quite so much.
With the graphics filtering turned on through scummvm it doesn't look much different except the size has been bumped up from a 1.7GB normal download compared to the 5.2GB scummvm. I think the original art has been blown up with the latest download but it's in a black frame that you can stretch to fit using the settings.

I would have thought there would be one version with tweaks for VR devices so anyone could use it even if they didn't have a VR headset but did have head tracking.
Even games back when Riven was released had separate head movement for looking around.
