Hey there :)
I just recently purchased Myst and installed it. When I first installed it I didn't have time to play, so I just brought it up, went up from the docks, found a room with a dentist like chair in it, then saved and exited.
But, when I loaded my saved game, I was in a different place, I was in this library place, a circular room with books in it that I certainly didn't get to in the short time I played (took like 10 steps).
I have sinced tried it in all the compatibility modes available to me and it does the same over and over. I can't seem to save a game...or it doesn't load one properly.
Or...is that normal? Does the game have predestined load spots like this library or should I be exactly where I left off? I didn't play this before so I'm not sure.
I'm running the game on an XP laptop.
Thanks!

It's normal. Every age has one loading spot. For Myst it's the library. For the other I think it's the first screen.

Yes. I should have read the manual. I was having the same problem and was going a little nuts figuring out what was going on.
Thanks.
Thanks! =^.^= Guess I should have read the manual too ;p
No - when I quit the game and then load the Previous Visit, end up on the dock and everything I did in the previous game is gone. I'm starting completely over every time. I want a refund.
I tried to submit the issue on the GOG website, but it wouldn't allow me to do that. So, I sent an email to support and got a reply directing me to a help loop. You click on the problem, it gives a list of potential problem areas, you select one, back to the list. over and over and over.
I want a refund and don't ever want to deal with this company again if that's how their support is handled.
