In the visual options menu I only get two options to set the resolution, 800x600 and 1024x768. My normal resolution is 1366x768. It looks ultra squishy and I want to run it in widescreen. Help is much appreciated.

"You have to create a Character in a natively supported resolution first. The cut-scenes at the start cause the game to break and return to 800x600 if you try to do a character creation in 16:10 or 16:9. Once your character is created, be sure to return the resolution to 800x600 before patching and running the game using the method below.

For Game to start in your custom resolution add -iinit To_Dni to the Uru shortcut.
"F:\Games\Myst Uru Complete Chronicles\UruExplorer.exe" -iinit To_Dni

Game will then play in your desired resolution, but the image is stretched."

Also, you'll find a patch mentioned in the link above (the UniWS Patcher) here - http://www.wsgf.org/article/universal-widescreen-uniws-patcher

Tried it multiple times, no luck. Not even an error message. So I'm curious if this just doesn't work on the GOG version.
Update. Okay now when open up it says that "Failed to load graphics settings from file, loading defaults.

It works with the GOG version.

1. Start with a fresh installation of Uru. Don't install it into Program Files but a custom location.
2. Start the game. It should by default be set to 800x600. Create your character and close the game.
3. Start the patcher, select "Uru: Ages of Myst", select the installation folder and type in your preferred resolution in the boxes at the bottom of the patch window (I tested it with Width: 1680, Height: 1050). Click the Patch button.
4. Right-click the game's shortcut on your desktop and select Properties. In the Target field add: -iinit To_Dni
It should look something like this: "C:\GOG Games\Myst Uru Complete Chronicles\UruExplorer.exe" -iinit To_Dni
Apply the changes and use this shortcut to start the game.

That works. For some reason the custom folder worked (not program files). Also your graphics settings must be set at the startup and only that one time, adjusting them later though the launcher will revert the game to 800x600 and muck everything up. Thanks for the help everyone!

It's much better like this, but the characters are still stubby and look funny. Is there a solution for this problem too?
Thanks Mick
