I was wondering, when Riven is released, will the GOG.com release be featuring the 5-CD version or the DVD one? The DVD version was supposedly the one of higher calibre sound and resolution, but I've only owned the 5 CD version, so I can't really make the truthful claim of quality...

Looking at the size of the installer (2.2 GB) and GoG's past history of what version they use, I'd be willing to be they're using the 5 CD edition. However, they may use the DVD version because it'd be much easier to emulate one DVD then having to still deal with the "Please insert Disc 2, 3, etc" when you travel.

Actually, it's possible to do a full installation of both the 5-CD and 1-DVD versions, so either way, they wouldn't have to "emulate" any discs (which I highly doubt they have the ability to do unintrusively in a non-DOS game anyway).
Also, I've got the DVD-ROM version of Riven. Uncompressed, a full installation uses 2.75 GB, and using 7z compression, I can get it down to 1.72 GB.

i have installed the riven game on gog but it wont open and play I am running windows 7.

Hi there , this is my problem too,someone advised me to uninstall the game and reinstall which I did but nothing changed and like you I too am running windows 7,if you find a solution please let me know and likewise from me to you.

same thing for me...the play button is faded and nothing happens when i hit it.

I wonder if someone can help me. I would like to play Riven and URU on my new computer, but I don't know if these if games will work with WIN10.
I own both games and had no problems playing them on Win7, but I will not download them again if they won't play.

Purchased and installed game 2 days ago. Cannot save game. I've tried "save" and "save as" both. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.
