I can't get to 2nd floor inside the arena. Have tried drawing both the snake symbol and the one from Yeesha's 7th journal, dropping it on the pressure plate, raising the counter weight, then waiting by and sometimes on the elevator. Sometimes it just fizzes blue and nothing happens. Sometimes the Bahro comes but doesn't stand on the pressure plate long enough. In that case the elevator rises but comes right down again before getting all the way up. Other time the Bahro just comes and links it back to the Age Bubble. Sometimes it comes twice and both things happen.

I'm at a loss.

UPDATE:
Never mind. I kept trying and eventually got to the 2nd floor. One thing I did differently was to open both canal gates from the arena. Previously I had only opened one gate.
