Hi everybody,
You know that Myst has several QuickTime animations. When you uses brother's books, when you uses the elevator in the tower, when you uses paintings...
Everytime a QT is used in the game, its freezes and crashes. I must kill the task.
I'm under Windows 7 Home 64bits, ATI graphic card, 4go RAM.
Game is under Win XP SP2 compatibily.
What can I do? I read others topics, didn't find a solution for me :(

Hi,I had your same problem but under Windows Xp.
I resolved the problem installing the Indeo Codec, you can find it here:

Maybe there was a misunderstanding....
I was referring to realMyst not to the original Myst....
Are you playing realMyst or Myst?

Hello, I am having the same problem with my system. whick sounds like is about the same as yours. It hangs when you use the picture in the library. Did you figure out what was wrong? If so, please tell me what you did. Thanks alot.

I'm kind of having the same problem as you. A lot of the videos won't play. I can still activate switches and stuff, but the video showing what happens when you do does not play. Also, when I used the levers in the clock tower, the game froze and I had to kill it from the task manager.

If you don't necessarily need the newest version of Quicktime, just delete from your PC. Then install the old version that comes with the game and enjoy the game. Make sure you have made the compatibility configurations.
