I've got an Acer Aspire One, Win XP, 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM. For me, Riven works with no problems, aside from a weird bug with Atrus' Journal where one click turns two pages at a time. Haven't tested Myst yet.. but it's downloading as I type this...
My notebook (Medion) XP Home 2002 SP3. Pentium M processor 1.70GHz 1.69Ghz, 1.00GB Ram. (I have no idea what the 1.69 before the 1GB RAM means.)
Both Uru and RealMyst run for a short while then crash. Task manager then says CPU usage 100%.
btw...its a bit annoying not to be able to view system requirements before paying for a game. Had I known neither game would run I would not have paid for the damn things. (Am I correct here ?)
otoh...The Longest Journey also asks for 1.8Ghz and it ran fairly well, though it did crash a few times.
Maybe my problem is not enough RAM rather than processor although none of the games mentioned required more than 1GB of RAM.

Myst and Riven are fairly old games and they really should run on anything from a Pentium 2 upwards.
I used to run Myst on a 486 back in day.
