So I just bought Riven. I downloaded it and started playing and I immediately ran into a problem, apart from this one thing though, it runs fine. So whenever I click on a button or a door that plays an animation, or birds or other animals are on screen and so animations kick in, the graphics freak the fuck out. Basically the entire screen apart from the animation bit gets replaced by an earlier image. So I got to the part where you meet the penguin things for the first time and since they are animated, the little square that has them in it and hosts an animation is fine, but, the rest of the screen changes to a mixture of the tram screen and some earlier ones. I'll try to upload a picture of it if I can. But could anyone help me, I really want to play through this game but while this glitch does allow me to still play the game, (every time it happens I have to turn around to unglitch the screen) it is a pretty major annoyance. Also I am playing on an asus laptop with an nvidia graphics card, and I'm using dual monitors.

Ok so in this screenshot I'm actually at the weird object that is in the shot and i pressed on the five buttons that you can see, and when i did the buttons that I pressed remained there but the entire screen around them got replaced by that image of the earlier screen.

Edit: Ok I have tried playing the game with only one monitor in case that was the problem, but it did not solve the issue.

Try using Scummvm.
It works perfectly for me through that and I've beaten it already.
