I bought Riven on Steam as part of a package deal and was disappointed to see that it does not run on XP. For example, it failed on the 'roller coaster' animation.

Is the Riven offered by GOG any different? Has anyone completed this on XP?

I, too, mistakenly bought Riven on Steam without noticing that it doesn't work on XP and wasn't able to run the game at all. I bought the GOG version, scolding myself for not buying it first, and it worked fine for me, and I was able to play and complete the game. I'd say your odds are pretty good of it working.
