Hi,

I want to create a new profile for a multiplayer game (i.e. caracter); but somehow, the profile name is stuck to the default "New_Player" name and I can't change it. The actual box is dimmed out, as if it's not available to change. Somehow, there are one or two small spots where it actuyally can be hjighlighted, but even so, the name itself doesn't want to be changed.

This is extremely annoying, since everythime I want to join a game, of course, it seems that this name is being used. So basically, I can't play the multiplayer part of the game....!

Anybody as a clue...?

The version of the game I play is the last patch (1.162), and language is in French.

Try to delete the hidden folder located at %APPDATA%\Mount&Blade Warband

What you need to delete is the profiles.dat file. On Vista and newer it's usually saved in
C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband

Though, the AppData folder is hidden by default, so you don't find it in Windows Explorer.
To go there, open Windows' Run Dialog by pressing WinKey+R and type in %appdata%

EDIT: Btw, the game was updated to 1.163

Thanks; I tried your suggestion, but somehow, it didn't work. The profile name still can't be changed... o.O
