I love Mount & Blade, but always thought it lacks one crucial feature - permadeath. Such option would drastically raise the stakes and put some meaning into your decisions.

Was wondering if there is a mod allowing this? Or maybe there is already a permadeath option in one of the games in the series? (I only played the original so far)

There are definitely some sections of the M&B:Warband: Viking Conquest: Reforged Edition where you can die "permanently" - though you can always reload your last save, so it's not "true" perma-death in that sense.

AFAIK this can only occur in certain battles/events during the campaign mode - I'm not sure if you can ever die at all in sandbox mode.

For the most part, when you get taken out you're just wounded and possibly captured if you lost the battle - but of course you always happen to escape shortly afterwards, losing only some money and possibly some inventory. I suspect is the same as what happens in the others of the series.

As for mods - I can't recall this being mentioned anywhere, but I'm sure if someone wants it badly enough someone somewhere will make it... ;)

You can also just quit when you die :-)

Well...yeah. Thanks for the tip :P

There is actually a script modification that does just that, not tried it yet though.

Guess what I`m looking for would be a bit more developed mod which would also track your achievements and kept a score. Something a la Pirates! where upon death or retirement you`d get a summary of your "life" - if you survived the game would say what is your current standing in the world, taking on board wounds, age, wealth etc.
That sounds nice to me. Why not make sure the developer incorporates it into M&B 2: Bannerlords? Just nip over to their site and find the right thread on their forum.
