Should I regret that I got it on GOG again? I was really looking for War Sails. I see steam version is already updated to 1.3.6 with some critical gameplay fixes yet we are stuck with 1.3.5 on GOG.

Discovered offline installer is 1.3.6 Galaxy update stuck at 1.3.5

After offline install please verify files via Galaxy. Otherwise game crashes on Continue/New Campaign. At least for me. Verifying files solved that.

I really hope that the update goes to 1.3.6 soon. Sadly Galaxy install doesn't let me update with the offline patch. I don't want to reinstall everything.

I managed updating it by verifying files with Galaxy. Thanks @OP
I guess now i will have to mod my Sword Sisters to have helmets again since spnpccharacters.xml was changed.
