Sooo - this is quite one of the oddest errors i've seen over some years:

I'm running MR1 (the most recent 2.0.0.1.0) on Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Intel, NVidia, bla, some all regular hardware.

Game runs fine (except i usually finish last), but once i've exited it, some desktop icons have been replaced by others. Like, for example, an excel document has the truecrypt* icon. Still opens with excel though. All these replaced icons are back to normal after restarting my pc.

I've checked twice, it's def. MR1 causing this. Any ideas?

It's a long standing Windows bug (since 95 at least) that MR1 is apparently triggering. Have you tried a right-click - Refresh on the desktop? I think that helped the last time I saw this, but sometimes only a restart will fix it.

Ah, so if it's an "old" bug it's just fine (somehow), i thought it was with the most recent gog-version, since i can't remember it happen before with older gog-versions.

And no, refresh won't do the trick.
