Ok, so I've been playing the game on my old PC, and I was kinda wondering about something. In Direct3D mode, the game actually uses lower quality assets than in software rendering. Perhaps a DirectX 3.0 issue? After all, it was notoriously hard to code for.

Here are three screenshots I made:

Direct3D off
Direct3D on
Direct3D filtered

I really don't like that filtering... but anyway, the software version actually looks more detailed. If it weren't for the horrible framerate (doesn't seem to be a GOG issue, even on my old PC the smoke from braking almost hangs up the game), it would be preferable. As it is, I prefer the D3D version without filtering.

I also tried the 3DFX line, but nothing happened. Maybe it's too old to recognize my Voodoo 3. Some games were picky like that.
