Definitely only a GoG issue. Bought the game on Steam, no doge. I've requested a refund for my GoG copy.

Not sure if related, but the Steam version is 1.8.30.4 whereas GoG is version 1.8.19.3

I Think Some one Hacks the original assests and put this image in the game for fun!
There s no check MD5 Hash to verify the integrity of game !

Refund!
I've got the GoG installer to check/verify multiple times and have uninstalled/reinstalled more than 3x to see if any of those fixes the issue. No luck.

Same problem. It seems like because GoG doesn't have DRM, the GoG version is triggering the anti-piracy measures in the game. Lets hope that there's a fix sooner than later.
There's a thread on the subreddit I started about this as well, with gifs. If you're testing this, don't go to the dungeon entrance area, because you may experience your peripherals being disabled, and the only way out of it is to force a restart of your machine.

well, I will continue to hope for a fix from GoG (don't like "steam-monopol" XD), but others already have started to use the refund option.

It is so annoying. after like 4 reinstall i went digging into the data files and found the culprit

i put old on the end of the filename and after that no more doge and my sanity back.

Bear in mind, everyone, that we're just now coming out of the holiday period. I'm sure this will be addressed very soon now that it's finished up. Be patient a little while longer.
The worst part : zero communication from the devs/editors.

(this fad about gog "second zone" customers is a real problem)

The "holiday season" is an additional reason why I have not jumped on the "refund-train" for this game here.
I just hope that this "feature" (and I use that term very losely) will not come into play more often...

Yep. noticed that as well, and got a nice email from gog, regarding same request I send to support, apologizing for the late reply.

I, for one, am VERY HAPPY that these pictures are GONE!!!
I sincerely hope they stay gone!

Now, the game can be enjoyed again :-)

Yeah i wasnt able to play at all because it was infurating.
Also the two files that I edited got re added to the folder and they are also a different file size
