So there I am, paying for the first time this game and inmediatly looking for an abandonware version. I managed to make Scummvm find the "hidden, classic version", burt there is not sound and music. I can't even play it on an original DOS computer.

I use Linux and FreeBSD. This version only supports Windows. I can emulate it fine with Wine, but honestly, I prefer the graphcis and music of the old DOS version (I think the new one is fine, just that I see it as too different and like the old stile more).

The worst bit is a thrend I am seeing too often recently: A classic version is offered in GOG, many abandonware pages change the download button to "buy in GOG" (I am fine with that), but after a while they remove the classic version in GOG and put as only available a Windows NT only, with too different graphics and music version of the classics. And if you liked the old versions, or you wanted to test it on different OS, including DOS and UNIX, fuck you. After that, the download link rarely updates, so there I am. Like a fool, paying for this version I'll never use, and downloading a pirated version so I can enjoy this game in Scummvm and DOS.

Please, someone tell me there is a hidden way of getting the classic version from this windows only cartoonish version.....

You can try this, or press "F10" ingame Monkey Island 1 or "F1" ingame Monkey Island 2 for switching to the classic versions.
