I remember when the attendant asks you for your membership card the first time, you get an assortment of funny responses to use. But when I played through just today, suddenly Guybrush automatically responded with "Why?".

Is something up with this version of the game? Did I do something to generate this response every time? Any way to fix it?
I loaded a savegame just before visiting the beach club for the first time and I got four different options when the cabaña boy asked me for my membership card.

I have the latest version on GOG (1.0L), on Windows, English language.

Yes, I'm aware they exist.

But when I visited the club and he asked me for my membership card, Guybrush just automatically replied with "Why?" and then it proceeded along from there with none of the funny dialogue options.

How did you generate the four optional pieces of dialogue? Did you visit there without the membership card and no knowledge that Slappy Cromwell's agent was on the beach? I had both so maybe that could've triggered this sudden automatic "Why?" from Guybrush?

Yes, the save was from the beginning of the act and I didn't have the membership card yet.
