Unfortunately with the new Unity engine (with much better AA) they broke vsync. I have already informed the devs and hopefully they will fix it.

That's not good. Please let us know if, and what, they reply to you.

As promised:

"I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues. We are currently working on an update for GK and Moebius which we hope to have out in January. These will be using newer versions of Unity and the video plugin, which should help. I know the code forces VSync to be on due to walking calculations, so it is there..."

Cheers. Though it's not clear to me what they're saying - are they acknowledging the issue, and the January update will address it? Or is your case viewed as an isolated one, and hopefully you won't have any issues after the January update?

They are saying that normally the issue should not occur because they already HAVE activated vsync (so it is not an oversight). However they already plan an update (hopefully in january) with a newer version of the engine and a new plugin which COULD also fix this issue. It seems as if THEY did not experience the issue. Just to be sure that they've tested it correctly I told them how you can easily see if vsync works or not (screen tearing in the opening sequence). Sometimes these issues don't occur for everybody (depending of your GPU and driver) so I am interested if this really IS a single case and Iif I am the only one experiencing the problem. In any case we'll get a new update. Meanwhile I will also try different drivers/driver settings - even though it's still strange that the problem does not occur in the old version.

I see. Fingers crossed it gets fixed, single case or not.

Just a quick update on the issue:
The announced january update is not out yet (already contacted the devs today about this) but during testing I figured out a way to eliminate the tearing during cutscenes. I really don't know why this is the case but I simply changed the settings in the launcher from "fantastic" (running a GTX960 on a i5 @3.2Ghz in 1080p it should run quite well on this setting) to "fastest". Even on "good" I experienced this extreme tearing during cutscenes. Don't know if this setting really affects visuals in any way (since in game you can only change AA mode which is still set to max) but since the old version of the game had really bad AA maybe even setting this to "fastest" would look better than the prior version so this would at least be a workaround if you experience this issue and POS cannot fix it with the next update.

They already answered me and it seems as even if they should not be able to fix this with the next update they are planning to bring this game to Unity 5 engine sometime so this won't be the last update even though porting to another Unity engíne probably will take some time.

Good to hear that they're trying to fix it in the next update, and that they're generally not giving up.

Great to see that the devs released the promised update. I will try if this fixes my vsync issues as well. But in case it does not I meanwhile have found out that turning on aero might often help if nothing else does. Since devs usually assume that people have turned on their aero it might be that they don't even test the game without running aero. I personally don't like areo - not even the non transparent version of it. It simply distracts me too much. But in case some of you have tearing issues in ANY game it might improve this a lot.

Thanks for sharing, I'll make a note of it.
