I noticed that the soundtrack themes that used to be redbook audio on the original game have a couple of minor but distracting pops and clicks throughout that sound like 'mastering errors'. I checked the 2CD US version I currently own and it is the same there, however I cannot remember the version I had as a kid (Dutch or EU 1CD jewel case version) having the issue. I could be misremembering, but I listened to the soundtrack outside of the game back then as well and think I would have noticed.

Anyone knows if there are indeed versions out there with a better quality redbook soundtrack? If so, would be great if GOG could use it as a source for their ripped OGG music files.

I found a YT video with the full soundtrack (WAV and redbook tracks) that also does not have the clicks, but that could have had noise removed:

Replying to my own post for posterity: I now have the single disc EU version, and there are indeed no clicks in the CD music tracks. Not sure exactly which versions do and do not have the audio issue, but I can confirm this one at least doesn't. Would be nice if GOG could update their version.

edit: would be happy to provide the audio tracks
