I also have this issue with release-50a on Arch Linux. I "solved" it by using another malloc lib, and then resize the window with the mouse.
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libjemalloc.so ./Mini\ Metro

I read somewhere that builds from older Unity is the problem, but I don't know anything about it.
