I have installed MM 7 on Win 10 and the performance is just horrible with hardware acceleration turned on. is there a workaround? Because i've had constant 60 fps on win 7 (GTX 970 and i7 4770k).

As I understand it, the answer is to turn hardware acceleration off.

gives me even lless fps :/ running the mm7-rel.exe helped though. no clue how its different from the actual.exe but ah well its working now :D

I've had a lot of problems on my GTX 560 on Windows 8. Windows 10 fixed one of the problems, but if you want to not have any framerate drops, head to the nvidia control panel 3D settings and set "Power management mode" to "Prefer maximum performance". Lastly, the game is set to windows 95 compatibility mode. DISABLE IT - it forces the game to only use 1 CPU core - which makes a lot more difference, than you might think on such an old game. I was getting a lot of audio stutter and slow loading times until I disabled it (it works fine without the compatibility mode).

M&MVII on Win10x64 v1511 works splendidly well--hardware accelerated. I'm using the resolution patch and the game runs beautifully at 1280x960--it will run at higher resolutions, just not reliably, with the res patch. But I have an R9 380 4GB card and am running the Crimson 16.1's.
