I'm not entirely sure how to get these games to run in a window or without sound, would someone be able to enlighten me as to how to do this

You can't change it once you have posted. As for windowed modes check out this thread:

Not sure about the sound though I would assume you would have sound options in a menu or something.

for all dosbox related games (MM 1-5)
open the configfile of dosbox
dosboxmm.....conf
set fullscreen=false
and nosound=true
